Seattle Gymnastics Academy, Inc. is company dedicated to progressive gymnastics with 4 locations throughout Seattle, Washington. We develop strength, skill, and character through gymnastics training. SGA is committed to providing the best gymnastics program in the area in a fun and safe environment. We build a foundation of coordination, strength, and responsibility that will help child succeed in life's endeavors. SGA employs over 130 staff, teaching over 4,800 students everything from body control, starting with 12-month old children, to progressive and competitive gymnastics. We also proudly offer Preschool classes at The Seattle Preschool in Lake City and The Ballard Preschool in Ballard.
We are currently looking for part-time evening and weekend rec coaches at our Ballard, Lake City, and Columbia City locations!
Pay Rate: Competitive pay based on experience
Status: Full or part-time
Reports to: Program Manager or Program Director
We are seeking an energetic and active person who likes working with and teaching children. Come and work in a positive, empowering, and growing environment! We want caring individuals who desire to help kids grow and learn.
Responsibilities
- Progresses students in recreational classes
- Completes skill charts and attendance in a timely basis
- Communicates progress and problems to parents
- Places gymnasts in the right class/program
- Supports supervisor as assigned
- Manages emergencies calmly and proficiently
- Cleans facility as assigned
- Makes consistent progress toward obtaining credentials/certifications
- Participates in National Gymnastics Day and supports at least one other event annually
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or currently enrolled in school
- Experience coaching competitive gymnastics
- Experience working with children and enjoys children
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Effective communicator with children and adults
- A caring and helpful attitude
Physical Requirements
- The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Hand-eye coordination
- Lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance
- Ability to administer first-aid as necessary
- Explaining and demonstrating age appropriate gymnastics skills
- Spotting and lifting athletes of various ages and sizes
- Good manipulation skills to operate computers and office equipment or perform recreational training, instruction, and coaching
