Seeking Gymnastics Program Director and Team Coach

Our program: Southern Elite Gymnastics and Cheer is a small, but established gymnastics program.  We have recreational gymnastics classes serving close to 200 youth in our area, an Xcel team of around 15 girls participating in Bronze through Platinum, and a Junior Olympic program with around 15 girls competing levels 4 through 7.  We are a young team which has grown each year since it’s initiation in 2014, and we expect to have gymnasts moving up to Level 8 next year.  The girls on our team range from age 6-13.  Support staff consisting of recreational teachers and team coaches are in place.

​Our head coach/program director is relocating due to a change in her husband’s employment.  She is leaving on good terms and is willing to assist a new employee during this transition.  The current coaches will also assist in making this a smooth transition.

Our area:  Southern Elite is located in south eastern West Virginia in a small, but vital town called Lewisburg.  Our town was named “Coolest Small Town in America” by Budget Travel.  As home to our own Carnegie Hall and the state theater of WV, we are strong in the arts.  Outdoor recreational activities abound in our area with world class kayaking/rafting, skiing and mountain biking.  Lewisburg is a hub of activity drawing in people from all of the surrounding towns.

Qualifications:

USAG certified (or willing to certify)

Solid artistic gymnastics background

Dependable and reliable

Good organizational skills

Loves children

Job Duties:

Coach and oversee team practices and team coaches

Oversee recreational classes and recreational teachers

Promote coach/teacher training

Arrange team and recreational practice schedules

Answer parent questions and assist in enrollment

Provide communication with parents (Facebook posts, newsletters, etc.)

Competent spotting skills up through Level 8 or 9.
