Per WHEC, Olympic gold medalist Jordyn Wieber visited with local gymnasts in Penfield, NY prior to the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions performance in Rochester. This was bound to be inspirational to the youth in Penfield, and I would not be surprised at all if enrollment in gymnastics went up, perhaps even to the point where gyms in Penfield would need to hire more gymnastics coaches.

If you run a gymnastics club in Bridgeport, Connecticut, have you seen your enrollment increase? I wouldn’t be surprised if you had. A couple months ago, per the Connecticut Post, gold medalist gymnastics performed in the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT.

Boys and girls in Clay, New York have been inspired by the gymnasts who competed in the Rio Olympics and are sporting their own Olympic dreams, per CNY Central. This is great news for gymnastics clubs in the Clay area, who may have experienced a bump in enrollment following the Olympics.

According to the Star Gazette, enrollment in gymnastics increases every four year after the Olympics. This holds true in Elmira, New York, where a local gymnastics club saw their gymnastics enrollment increase by 50% after a previous Olympics. Often when enrollment increases, gyms have to hire more gymnastics coaches.

According to the Westport News, gymnastics enrollment in Norwalk has tripled.
More students may mean more gymnastics coaches need to be hired in Norwalk, CT.

New Jersey’s own Laurie Hernandez just won gold and silver medals in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics at the Rio Olympics and it is inspiring children in New Jersey to try gymnastics, so much so that enrollment in gymnastics in Fairfield Township has increased, per the New Jersey Hills Media Group.

Per the Stamford Advocate, enrollment in youth sports programs in sports complexes in Stamford, Connecticut has increased post the Olympics. Inspired by Simone Biles, kids get inspired to try gymnastics – and the number of gymnastics classes offered in Stamford could increase. Therefore, gymnastics clubs in Stamford, CT may need to hire more gymnastics coaches.

Gymnastics coaches in Buffalo, New York had good news with the recent January Buffalo job news.
According to Buffalo Business First, the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area’s unemployment rate dropped to 5.7, down from 6.7% a month ago and the lowest unemployment rate for the area since 2007.
