Gymnastics Instructor

Position Title:  Youth Gymnastics Instructor, Seasonal

Department:  Roseville Parks and Recreation, Roseville, Minnesota

Accountable To:  Gymnastics Coordinator

Primary Objective of Position: Teach the basic skills of gymnastics to youth.

Coaches Duties: 
1. Assist in the planning of practice lessons, with emphasis on fun and learning fundamentals.
2. Teach gymnastics skills and provide input to participants so they will improve.
3. Provide feedback to the Gymnastics Coordinator on how the program is going and recommend changes to improve the program.
4. Communicate program details with participants and parents.
5. Ensure that the program is run in a safe manner.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Knowledge of gymnastics - skills, and techniques
• Communication skills
• Supervision Skills

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
• Gymnastics teaching experience
• Experience teaching youth
• Knowledge of basic first aid
 

Extent of Supervision:
• Works under the general direction of the Gymnastics Coordinator

Public Contact:
• Moderate amount of public contact requiring a high degree of tact, courtesy, and sound judgment

Salary:  $9.50 -14 per hour

Hours:  Late afternoon, evenings, some staff work Saturday mornings
